Day 24
Mr Douglas dropped by today to check on our progress. I showed him the cracking and fracturing videos that I completed way back and I also showed him the problem I faced in the foreach sop.
He told me that he will bring the file back and try to figure it out and he will update me with the progress. I also consulted him regarding how to create the particles. Mr Douglas did a demonstration that I will be posting below:
Firstly he imported my bgeos files that I saved out from the previous hip file I did. His first advice for me is, to reduce cooking time, only take a small portion of the entire geometry for tests and not use the whole geometry as it isn't needed. And try to polyreduce as low as possible for testing and also constantly rop files out.
He used a delete node and deleted away the major of the geometry:
BEFORE DELETE NODE:
AFTER DELETE NODE:
Then he wanted to emit particles from the inside group so that when the crack opens up, the particles will come from the inside.
He used a delete node and deleted everything except the inside group.
Then a popnetwork is connected to the delete node and a polyreduce node which reduces the polycount of the terrain further.
Inside the popnetwork, a source node a collision node is set up.
I will update further tomorrow on how is it going.
Mr Douglas also mentioned that the cracking and fracturing concept was more or less on the right track just that I got to make it work.
The reason I have not been posting for the past few days is because there isn't any new updates on my fracturing and cracking as I was stuck. But now the posts will be constant as I will be working on the particles emission.
